SLO Sustainable-- Cultivating Your Conscious Closet
Mark your calendars for Friday, October 25th-- SLOTH Fashion is partnering with HumanKind Fair Trade to sponsor a multi-faceted, sustainable fashion event in downtown SLO!
Facing our climate crisis, everyone is looking for a way to contribute to the socially responsible green movement. Author Elizabeth L. Cline (Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion and The Conscious Closet) will be coming to the Downtown SLO Association office to impart her well-researched wisdom upon us. Cline has written a cohesive guide to help those seeking a more conscious and sustainable wardrobe. Cline’s visit is anticipated to kick-off a community action plan to shop more sustainably. From buying less and secondhand, to mending what you have, to tailoring your clothing-- attendees will leave the event with a depth and breadth of knowledge to implement into their own lives.
Following the author presentation and Q&A, there will be a sustainable fashion business expo. Mingle with local businesses that are already paving the way towards SLO sustainability!
A few of the confirmed partners of the event include:
Fred & Betty's - Thrift store benefiting the SLO Classical Academy.
Junk Girls - Local upcycled accessories at their finest!
